8 Track is seeking a Kitchen Manager/Chef to join our team and take lead of an established kitchen ( with fully staffed and capable team). We are a food-focused retro sports bar/restaurant located on east Manor Rd in Austin. Our kitchen staff service a high-paced self-service walk up window. We are looking for someone who can thrive in our fast-paced environment while also dedicating time to expand our clientele base and establish the restaurant's brand and reputation.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
Work along side Chef/Partner to keep culinary program current and inventive
Must cook/expo on the line daily
Coordinate food orders
Check freshness and quality of ingredients
Execute special events/catering
Ensure a quality product goes out every time
Work with management/ownership to create a memorable experience for guests
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years kitchen management (sous chef or chef)
Knowledge of cost and labor systems
Passion for food and cooking techniques
Strong leadership qualities
Ability to run a POS system
Must be able to close out a register
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Able to work with a sense of urgency
Must be Austin food MANGER certified
Must have minimum 5 years of cooking experience
Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays
Must be able to communicate in Spanish
This is a salary position that will pay up to 45,000.
