Job description
Duties: Dishwasher / Busser
Washing dishes: Using dishwashing equipment, such as dishwashers, they clean dishes, glasses, silverware, and other kitchen tools.
Sorting and organizing: They separate items based on their type, size, and material and properly stack them for storage.
Operating kitchen equipment: Dishwashers handle and operate machinery and equipment safely, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals, and industrial cleaning equipment.
Maintaining cleanliness: They ensure that work areas, including the dishwashing station, are clean and free of debris or hazards.
Assisting kitchen staff: Dishwashers may assist chefs or cooks by preparing ingredients, stocking supplies, or performing other basic food preparation tasks.
Adhering to health and safety standards: Dishwashers follow sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Clearing tables: Bussers remove used plates, glasses, silverware, and other items from tables promptly after guests have finished their meals.
Cleaning and sanitizing: They wipe down tables, chairs, and any spills on the floor to maintain a clean and tidy dining area.
Resetting tables: Bussers set up tables for new guests by placing clean tablecloths, utensils, and condiments.
Assisting waitstaff: They support the waitstaff by refilling water glasses, delivering requested items to tables, and responding to guest needs.
Restocking supplies: Bussers ensure that necessary items, such as napkins, straws, and condiments, are well-stocked and readily available.
Collaborating with the kitchen: They communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of dishes and expedite table turnover.
Following restaurant procedures: Bussers adhere to restaurant policies, such as dress code, service standards, and health and safety guidelines.
Both positions require individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment, maintain cleanliness, and collaborate effectively with the rest of the restaurant staff to provide an excellent dining experience for customers.
