Hayleycakes and Cookies, Austin’s premier boutique bakery is hiring EXPERIENCED cake decorators FULL TIME!
We work exclusively in American buttercream (no fondant allowed!), so hand piping skills must be on point.
Interested applicants should be have a fast, focused and efficient work style. Single tiered cakes should take, on average, approximately 30 minutes to top deco.
THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY OR INTERMEDIATE LEVEL POSITION
Interested applicants will have a sit down interview followed by a short working interview where you will be asked to reproduce the decoration for one of the cakes from our website. This position also has room for growth, both in responsibility and salary. Please email pics of your work in addition to your resume for consideration.
Experience and Skill level (expert):
-Good communication skills and ability to follow written instructions
-Willingness and eager to learn new skills and techniques
-Ability to mix and match custom colors
-Ability to work independently as well as with others within the company
-Ability to work and maintain an organized work area with high volumes on occasion
Responsibilities will include:
-Executing cake decoration in hand piped American buttercream at a high level
-Maintaining the mental and physical organization needed to adhere to production deadlines
-Stacking and base coating cakes to company standards
-Review customer order forms, design and create per instructions
-Coordinate with other cake decorators and manager to establish daily tasks
-Communicate with other departments (central kitchen, customer service, and shipping) as needed to answer questions and maintain efficient order processing.
-Maintain quality and a clean work environment on an ongoing basis
-The hours for this position will be as follows:
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Occasional Saturdays during busy season
Sunday OFF
The salary range for an expert will begin at $20.00 to $23.00 per hour paid on a biweekly basis. Expert salary is negotiable depending upon skill level.
