Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation
- Follow aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infection
- Perform patient assessments and record vital signs
- Assist with dental charting and treatment planning
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy rights
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Proficient in using dental assisting equipment and instruments
