The Heavy Equipment Operator I The position disposes of and covers refuse with the use of heavy equipment, such as compactors, scrapers, dozers and other related equipment.
Must be able to operate hand tools, headsets, etc.;
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
Ability to read and interpret survey markers and stakes to meet set standards ;
Understands stakes and guidelines on the ground or is able to position equipment following the hand signals of an assistant;
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications;
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail;
Reliable transportation; and
Available to work weekend or holiday shifts, as scheduled.
High school diploma or equivalent;
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License;
Record of safe driving for the past three years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations.
