POSITION: Porter / Maintenance Tech
REPORTS TO: General Manager / Assistant General Manager
WORK HOURS: Mon-Fri flexible hours, occasional weekends
FUNCTION AND ROLE: Austin Proper is a downtown luxury residential high-rise and hotel. The Porter will maintain facilities at the direction of the Manager, Assistant Manager and residential Board including but not limited to cleaning garage, maintaining trash rooms, pool, food delivery, package delivery, runner tasks and general routine property maintenance. This is an entry level position with a focus on maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Maintain elevators, pool, outdoor kitchen, garage levels and building perimeter
Receive and process all FedEx, UPS and Amazon packages for delivery or storage by the end of the day.
Inspect facilities and equipment on regular basis for and make note of any potential hazardous conditions that may exist
Inspect and maintain community areas, owners lounge, landscaping areas, dumpster areas, and other recreational or common areas
Check and inspect all residential floors, roof, entry way, mechanical rooms, trash rooms, garage levels and gates regularly
Pick up recyclables, trash and break down cardboard
Completes daily check lists and documents activities
Keep, maintain and secure community property tools
Maintain inventory of supplies needed for the Community as approved
Accountable for individual performance, equipment, supplies, quality of work, personal safety and the safety of others
Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and staff
Cleaning, sweeping, power washing sidewalks, parking garage and driveways, etc.
Assist management and staff as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of working extended hours, including holidays and weekends as necessary
Must be able to communicate in English
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Position involves standing and movement throughout the day.
Must be able to lift heavy load utilizing safe work methods
Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail-oriented with good reasoning, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must have the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes or delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently and with a positive attitude under such circumstances
