The Shop Supervisor manages the daily staffing and workload of shop personnel to meet performance goals. This position monitors repair and maintenance processes to ensure compliance with established procedures, tracks shop costs and expenses against the budget and identifies training and development opportunities for shop personnel.
Associate’s degree in Business, Logistics or related fields and at least one year of experience (the degree can be substituted with experience on a year-for-year basis, up to four years); or an industrial technician certification and at least one year of experience in heavy duty truck and trailer maintenance
Experience with hydraulic, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, engine, transmissions, HVAC and special body applications
Three years of supervisory experience in a maintenance organization or completion of technical school and at least five years of experience
Extensive mechanical background
Demonstrate solid working knowledge of service shop procedures
Demonstrate creativity and adaptability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to multiple facilities or work sites
Ability to work overnight, weekend or holiday shifts, as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related field and at least one year of related truck and trailer maintenance supervisor experience
Valid Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
Safe driving record for last five years
Department of Transportation (DOT) certifications for air brake systems, preventive maintenance inspection and air conditioning
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Truck certification
Valid Class C driver’s license
Safe driving record for three years
