Overview: The Detail, Engraving, and Assembly Tech I is responsible for the detailed engraving, assembly, and finishing of products. This role also supports continuous improvement efforts through 2 Second Lean practices.
Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
Perform detailed engraving, assembly, and finishing tasks on a variety of products.
Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.
Implement 2 Second Lean improvements to enhance workflow efficiency.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Read blueprints, illustrations, or specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations
Layout and mark reference points and locations for installation of parts or components, using jigs, templates, or measuring and marking instruments.
Align, fit, connect, assemble parts, fittings, or subassemblies on commercial parts.
Cut, trim, file, bend, or smooth parts to ensure proper fit and clearance.
Other duties may be assigned by leadership.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
1+ years of experience in engraving, assembly, or related fields.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
High School Diploma or GED preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
Trunk Strength- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
Extent Flexibility- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
Stamina- The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
Perceptual Speed- The ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns. The things to be compared may be presented at the same time or one after the other. This ability also includes comparing a presented object with a remembered object.
Manual Dexterity- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
Visualization- The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or
Ability to continuously lift 50+ lbs in an 8 hour shift and higher with assistance.
Written Comprehension- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
