Operational Safety Leadership Role:Direct Hire Opportunity!$100K/yearExcellent Insurance PackageJob Description and Requirements:The Safety Manager will establish and maintain effective Operational Safety programs for all Moove-managed autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet operations.What are the R&Rs:This person is responsible for creating safety programs for autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet operations. The programs ensure that the infrastructure, operations, and processes used during AV rides and deliveries comply with regulatory safety requirements and align with the industry standards and best practices adopted by Uber and its partners.Who are we looking for?An Operational Safety Leader with extensive experience in the transportation sector (AV, aviation, automotive, trucking, maritime, etc.)Someone with a strong understanding of the core concepts of a safety management system and knowledge of relevant industry standards within AV technology that inform these activities.Direct experience establishing successful safety programs within a safety management system framework.A strong familiarity with safety concern reporting, incident response protocols, oversight programs for AV operations staff, safety performance metrics, business continuity planning, and safety assurance.Proven success working in deeply cross-functional environments. This role requires collaboration internally with Moove and externally with several partners and stakeholders.This person stays abreast of safety and industry trends, is a member of professional safety associations and has a strong understanding of Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium (AVSC) and SAE safety standards.What you will do:● Operational Safety: Be the responsible leader for all safety programs, including overall safety culture, specific to autonomous vehicle fleet operations.● Program Management: Manage safety programs from creation through operational implementation and beyond, ensuring adherence standards and requirements. Serve asthe primary point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners on operational safety for Moove Cars.● Partner Engagement: Work closely with Uber, its partners, and others to understand the requirements for operations on the Uber Platform with the goal of successfully implementing against those requirements for mutually beneficial outcomes.● Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with several leaders across Moove Cars, including legal, policy, finance, human resources, engineering, and regional operations teams.What required qualifications should you possess:● Operational Safety: Minimum 8 years experience implementing or supporting safety programs, preferably related to autonomous vehicle testing or operations.● Program Management: Proven track record managing safety programs within a relevant industry, with experience leading cross-functional and cross-industry teams.● Communication & Relationship Building: Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work across different cultures and industries.● Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in safety, engineering, or related technical fields.What preferred qualifications are a bonus:● Advanced degree in safety, engineering, or related technical fields● Experience working with safety management system (SMS) frameworks● Experience performing data analysis of operational safety data to generate reports and take action on safety performance indicators● Experience presenting on the safety-related programs and activities to high level leaders and stakeholders across multiple industries● A continuous improvement approach, with a history of quick adaptation and self-directed learning● A passion for creating empathetic, inspiring, and innovative transportation solutions in pursuit of positive societal outcomesFor immediate consideration, please send a resume and your availability for a phone interview to Melissa Doughertymeld227@kellyservices.com
