Mental Health Study for Adults who are Currently in Therapy

University of California, Irvine Research: Therapy & Technology Study

Please join our 4-week mental health study.

Study Goal:

- To test the effectiveness of a chatbot as an adjunct to therapy.

Study Procedures:

- Complete baseline survey

- Complete a short enrollment Zoom call

- Follow study instructions for 4 weeks

We are pending approval for 2 more surveys - once approved, that means we send you a 2nd survey to complete for 4 weeks after your Zoom enrollment, then a 3rd/final survey for 8 weeks after your Zoom enrollment.

Participant Compensation:

- Participants can earn $25 in Amazon gift codes for completing the baseline survey

Participants can earn more for completing the 4-week follow-up survey and 8-week follow-up survey.

Eligibility Criteria:

Participants must:

- Be 18+

- Live in the US

- Speak English

- Self-report having been treated for or diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or major depressive disorder (MDD) by a licensed provider (e.g., MD, DO, LPCC, LCSW, LMFT) in the past 12 months

- Self-report currently being in therapy

Exclusion Criteria:

You are ineligible if you have ever been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, or have been hospitalized for suicidality.
