Local, independent real estate lender seeks mortgage loan officer assistant to support loan applications, processing, and servicing. We lend to Texas real estate investors for fix and flip, rentals, commercial real estate investments, construction, and land.
This is a support role and is mostly in-office (78704 location), with some flexibility for remote work after training. You’ll guide customers through our loan application process and the draw process for construction and rehab loans. You’ll also assist with loan servicing.
Required skills and experience:
Real estate transactional experience – at least 2 years. You’ve worked as (or for) a real estate agent or worked for a mortgage company, alternative real estate lender, or a title company.
Comfortable and confident with data, numbers, Excel, and Word.
Great on the phone, polished and persuasive. Perceptive and a natural salesperson.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Preferred experience:
4-year degree or Texas real estate license

Hard money or other mortgage
Real estate valuation

Quickbooks and/or Mortgage Office
Lead tracking via Hubspot or other CRM

Job duties:
Customer service & pre-closing
Support and collaborate with our real estate investor borrowers. Strategically guide them through the contract to closing process and beyond. Explain our loan products and direct customers to appropriate solutions for their needs.
Manage and update loan pipeline. Track action items and hold both clients and principals accountable for progress and follow-up. Assist with social media, email and other marketing, lead tracking, and customer service.
Loan processing
Prepare detailed and accurate summaries with analysis for our real estate loan prospects. Review and summarize complex construction project pro-formas into a concise and easily digestible format.
Due diligence and processing for real estate loans. Collect and organize related information from borrowers, lenders and title companies. Order and review credit reports and background checks.
Site-visits in the Austin area to evaluate feasibility of potential loans and assess construction progress.
Create and proofread documents for real estate closings and extensions. Review title commitments and other loan related documents. Coordinate with escrow officers and attorneys for closings and funding.
Loan servicing
Support our construction/rehab draw process by providing borrower guidance on scope, budget, contractor management, permitting, milestones and more. Collaborate with borrowers to set up construction budgets that line up with our draw schedules.
Proactively manage payment collections and defaults. Ensure strict adherence to loan terms, including draw requirements. Assist with basic accounting including payment processing, invoicing, and payoffs.
