The Systems Engineer works on networking and server-related projects, both for new and existing infrastructures. Working closely with the managing consultant, project plans are designed and implemented with a high degree of quality and with excellent communication to all stakeholders. From installing a new firewall or a new VM, all the way to migrating client data to the cloud, the Systems Engineer provides a vital function in support of the excellent service provided to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Deploy complex solutions involving a variety of technologies, including Exchange, VMWare, Windows Server and Office 365 technologies (SharePoint, Azure, Skype for Business, etc).

• Design, configure, and deploy new network infrastructure and server environments.

• Manage, maintain and upgrade existing servers and networks.

• Regularly communicate project status to client contacts and managers.

• Understand client business processes and goals and recommend technology solutions to improve those processes or achieve those goals.

• Manage complex technology projects including coordinating internal and external resources.

Requirements 

• Minimum 4 years as a network/system administrator, network/system engineer, or equivalent role.

Strong knowledge in MS Windows and MS Windows server environments, including configuration and administration.

• Strong knowledge in computer networking technologies and protocols, such as OSI model, basic routing, VLANs, ACLs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, WiFi, etc.

• Basic knowledge of storage and server hardware.

• Knowledge in Microsoft Exchange, VMWare, Remote Desktop Services, Windows Server, SQL Server, Check Point and other firewalls, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 technologies (SharePoint, Azure, Skype for Business, etc). Amazon Web Services (AWS) knowledge is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to interface professionally with clients.

• Ability to see problems through to resolution and communicate progress and results to clients and management.
