Phoenix LiDAR Systems manufactures laser mapping payloads for commercial drones. We are looking for a proactive, self-sufficient linux guru with a very strong desire to learn. Must have analytical problem-solving skills, wanting to be part of a cohesive team that enjoys learning to help maintain existing applications while willing to take on new technologies and challenges.
Position:
- Setup and configuration of Linux based LiDAR payloads

Requirements:
- You HAVE to be one with the linux command line (ssh, rsync, vim, nano, cp, mv, rm, systemctl, mount, ping, git, nc, ethtool, curl/wget, ifconfig, grub, iptables, bash scripting). The more the better. Please don't apply if you started learning linux last week.
- Have a good understanding of computer technology: how many wires do USB and ethernet use, how do serial ports work, what's the difference between RS232 and LVTTL, whats a baud rate, what are GPT and UEFI?
- Be able to troubleshoot basic technical issues (Why is this LED off? Beep out cables, use a multimeter, maybe even an oscilloscope, read some schematics)
- Must be eager to learn!
Good to have:
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Diligent, flexible, and highly organized
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, team player
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
