Senior Developer (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) –Austin, TX); Multiple positions available. Work with technology leadership to understand both immediate technical problems and trading workflow strategic state. Distill out key technical requirements and workflows, work with engineering team leads and engineering colleagues to find technical solutions, identify and analyze trade-offs, phase solutions, follow through to implementation resolving design issues, and respond to changing requirements or technical issues. Build modular, easily testable software that lends itself to proper monitoring and applications based on cloud native principles with high availability and scale in mind. Analyze usage data to further enhance application experience. Employ a data-driven approach to application development while analyzing usage data to further enhance application experience.
Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in public cloud technologies and cloud native development principles. Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following: Java development; data models, messaging, REST, design patterns and best practices for system integration; automation and CICD tools, such as Gitlab; migrating existing workloads to cloud; and, infrastructure fundamentals, such as Unix, networks, scripting, SSH, or Kerberos. Experience may be gained concurrently.
