Job Description
ATX Handy Guy is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as General Residential Construction Workers. This position involves various tasks related to the construction, renovation, and repair of residential properties. We are looking for candidates who possess basic math skills, spatial awareness, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the construction, renovation, and repair of residential buildings.
Perform tasks such as framing, drywall installation, painting, and flooring.
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
Measure and cut materials accurately.
Assist with the installation of windows, doors, cabinetry, and other fixtures.
Ensure job sites are clean and organized.
Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Strong spatial awareness and ability to interpret blueprints and plans.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Interview Process
Our interview process is a hands-on tryout designed to assess your practical skills and abilities. During the tryout, candidates will be asked to:
Math and Measurement Tasks: Perform basic construction-related math calculations and demonstrate accurate measuring and cutting of materials.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints or building plans and explain how you would execute the project.
Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate the safe and efficient use of various hand and power tools.
Problem-Solving Scenarios: Address common construction challenges and explain your approach to solving them.
Practical Construction Tasks: Participate in real-time construction tasks such as framing, drywall installation, or other relevant activities to showcase your skills and workmanship.
