We are a small custom sewing shop in North Austin that has been operating for 27 years. We exclusively create custom goods for interiors.
Overview:
This is a production position requiring both speed and precision. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Seamstress to join our team. As a Seamstress, you will be responsible for cutting, sewing and assembling a variety of soft interior home goods using a sewing machine. This position is based in our North Austin shop.
Duties:
- Sew and fabricate products according to specifications
-Efficient installation of invisible zippers
-Must be able to understand pattern matching and fabric directionality
- Operate and maintain sewing machines and other equipment
- Measure, cut, and assemble fabric pieces
- Ensure high quality and accuracy in product construction
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Most frequent projects you'll be required to do:
-Cushion covers, pillow covers, duvet covers, slipcovers, table skirts, and rod pocket curtains.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Seamstress
-Comfortable installing invisible zippers and zipper tape
- Proficient in using sewing machines, serger, and other relevant tools
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Basic math skills
-Strong knowledge of sewing techniques and construction.
- Excellent time management skills
Compensation: The starting rate for this position is $18 -$20/hr based on experience with the opportunity to earn up to $35/hr as skills and speed are developed.
Training: While this position does require sewing experience, we are willing to train on home decor sewing and construction specifics as needed.
