Hiring for a part-time and/or full-time delivery specialist. Our company delivers 16’ x 8’ portable storage containers to customers. The customer can keep that container at their location or have it moved in-market. The delivery specialist will only deliver our containers in the Austin, TX area— no out of market deliveries.
The ideal delivery specialist has some experience driving a large truck (either via a CDL, though that’s not required) or having driven a box truck in their past experience. The delivery process does require manual labor and occasionally the ability to spot-repair items (such as the battery we use on our box movers). Beyond driving a truck, the delivery specialist loads and unloads our containers via our Mule-Bot delivery remote controlled delivery system (please go to MuleBox.com and find the Instagram button at the bottom of the home page to view the system).
Qualities of the right candidate will be: very punctual, highly dependable, ability to operate without a lot of supervision and (most importantly) being a good representative of our brand in front of the customers. When delivering a container, customers are often highly involved and the delivery specialist must have a good customer-facing persona. Agreeable, likeable and good-humored would be ideal customer-facing traits of the delivery specialist.
The delivery specialist shows up to our facility every morning, checks their schedule for the day and loads/unloads a container and begins their route. A dispatch operator (usually a customer service representative, our GM or our owner) will work with the delivery specialist on their route throughout the workday.
This is a 1099 contract position and pays $20 to $25 an hour. A minimum of 30 hours a week is guaranteed. Weekends are rare, but if the delivery specialist is interested we do sometimes offer additional hours for emergency weekend deliveries.
