In this role, you will be responsible for completing skilled maintenance, calibration and repair work on a variety of analytical instruments at the Cedar Bayou facility including process and environmental systems.This position works a 4/10 schedule. Other schedules may be necessary according to conditions at the plant (Turnarounds, Shutdowns and process control problems etc.).Responsibilities

Maintain and improves the Mechanical Integrity of equipment to achieve safe, reliable and incident-free operations

Follow safe work practices, basic maintenance procedures and enthusiastically contributes to a safe work culture

Perform regulatory required environmental compliance testing and maintains documentation

Provide 24-hour analytical system support of operating units

Utilize P&ID’s, schematics and loop sheets to complete assigned task.

Conduct routine monitoring and maintenance to provide the highest possible on-stream availability of all analyzer systems

Report problems and possible solutions to supervisor and customers

Receive instructions, work orders and safe permits for the troubleshooting, repair, calibration, replacement or overhaul requirements of analyzers, probes, and sensors

Responsibilities (continued)

Complete modifications, changes and data collection of analyzers and sample systems

Perform routine monitoring of sample handling systems and carrier/calibration gas cylinder replacements

Maintain calibration gases for analyzers

Liaise daily with Supervisor and Operations personnel; and

Ensure that all work is carried-out in accordance with the Cedar Bayou safe working procedures, safety permits and regulations

Work independently, demonstrate excellent organizational skills and be able to evaluate and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure alignment with plant goals while acting with a sense of urgency (when required)

Customer-focused, results-driven and able to effectively collaborate and work with personnel at various levels throughout the company

Required Qualifications

Associate Degree in Instrumentation Technology with a minimum of 1 year related experience with instruments/analyzers

A minimum of 1 year of experience in calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of various types of instruments/analyzers is required (Siemens & ABB preferred)

The candidate must have the ability to read piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), technical manuals, and other process safety information

The ideal candidate should be familiar with various types of analyzers, possess knowledge and experience with gas chromatographs, oxygen, pH, BTU, WOBBE index, conductivity, density and moisture

Key competencies and skills the candidate must possess include strong oral, verbal and written communication skills

Excellent computer skills (especially experience with Microsoft Office products) are required

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer 5+ years of analyzer experience

Experience in the chemical industry would be considered a plus

One or more years of experience with Siemens, ABB and Yokogawa analyzers
