The Full Charge Bookkeeper position Robert Half is currently filling and could be a good fit for you. The long-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Baytown, Texas. The most successful candidate for this position will be able to establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.What you get to do every single day

Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections

Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules

Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close

Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Filing documents to maintain historical records Requirements

High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

Earlier work involving Excel, QuickBooks

Payroll experience

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Highly organized and self-motivated

Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting

3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

Proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll

Foundational knowledge in Human Resources (HR) Administration

Solid understanding of full charge bookkeeping

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
