Position Description

The best candidate for this role will be able to leverage their Java/Python programming skills to help drive business transformation initiatives for our clients. Ideal candidates will have experience working with technical ambiguity in an effort to solve defined business problems. This Bootcamp will lay the foundation for you to solve real-world business problems with information technology and enable our clients in their Cloud migration journeys.
CGI is seeking candidates to join our onshore delivery team as part of a Cloud Developer Bootcamp. The best candidate for this role will be able to leverage your JAVA and/or Python skills to help drive business transformation for our clients. Ideal candidates
will have experience working with technical ambiguity in an effort to solve defined business problems.
This position would suit a dynamic, innovative, and enthusiastic software developer with a proven track record not only in delivering quality applications but also in providing excellent customer service. Experience with various technologies is important, but of higher importance is the ability to research, select, and learn new patterns and technologies efficiently, and the desire to leverage current skills in a cloud environment.

This role must be located in Belton, TX

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Designing, architect and developing Cloud-based applications utilizing event-driven architectures and microservices
• Engineer cloud-based software using industry and domain-area best practices (i.e., data engineering, DevOps, etc)
• Develop efficient and reusable software modules in Java/Python
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing Java/Python code-bases
• Employ Cloud-based testing methods to ensure code specification requirements are met and performance is scalable
• Collaborate with other software engineers in peer-design reviews to ensure the highest quality code deliverables
• Work with product managers and designers to ensure the software is designed well and meets user needs

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Java or Python development
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Java and Java EE
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of hardware and operating systems (Unix-based systems a plus)
• Agile experience with application servers and web application servers
• An aptitude to design software solutions even with significant ambiguity in the problem statement
• An attitude and perspective of continuous learning in your career

Skill Set - Years of Experience - Proficiency Level
Java and/or Python - 2+ years

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
• Understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) is a plus
• Knowledge of website design and programming is a plus
