We are South Padre Island Trips, a full service property & vacation rental management company on South Padre Island. We provide rental service to homeowners for tourists including maintenance plus housekeeper services. Additionally, our Company Founder owns a partial share in a home building company and a travel/tour operator services that need minimal accounting as well.

Our Company is seeking a pat time bookkeeper at our professional office on South Padre Island a few hours per week. This position requires 'in house" or "in office" work can all be in one day a eek or 2. We offer a private office within our Company’s offices for you as well.
You should be:
Interested in organizing a wide range of financial accounting for a business with 25 employees and multiple channels of small business. You should be wild about being organized - what we are dying for! We are a young, fun company or so we think!
We think this is a benefit - you will work for just ONE boss or dude - our Founder. Not report to a bunch of corporate nerds other than our CPA if questions.
Ability to deal with an extremely fast paced business with a big growth rate. We have doubled the size of our business in the last 15 months.
Clear understanding of Quickbooks online and how to use it. We still have a CPA for tax filings.
You will cover bookkeeping services for my property management company (llc), my travel tour company (S corp) - small by the way) and personal accounting. My current bookkeeper says this is 12 to 15 hours a month, but in order to get us organized I'm saying 8 to 10 hours a week or so.
You must have:
Willingness to learn and use existing softwares we use for processing payroll, filing county, state and federal taxes due (payroll, occupancy, sales tax, TWC, etc) as well as our housekeeping and maintenance software and property management software to some degree
You MUST have experience in taking a disorganized set of books and organizing them within Quickbooks
We train you on these softwares and you are paid to learn, easy but does take some patience to learn. You would be cheerful to learn softwares to lessen the heavy lifting of your bookkeeping.
We use GUSTO for payroll / barefoot and; breezeway for our Property Management and Quickbooks for the accounting.
Long term position – please do NOT apply if you do not plan on staying and are in the positive of looking for “something for just now.” There is just too much time involved teaching the right person is all though the hours are not a ton
Monthly transmittal to our CPA on financials and taxes paid as well as creation of financial statements to our Company Owner.
Ability to work with different employees, from our Company Founder, to Operations Director, Head of Reservations, Front Desk Manager & more to get info you need.
We are looking for a full 360 degree solution - not someone that can "well I can do payroll but not quickbooks" - that doesn't work. Our past bookkeeper will do a transition as to what gets paid when to whom and lead you so you do not start in the dark.
This would be a salaried position with 100% flexible hours though we do want you in our South Padre office at least 1 day per week during regular business hours Monday to Saturday (you pick the days!) It just makes things easier. Private office in our office :)
