Job duties include: Assist the survey crew chief in conducting land surveys and collecting data - Set up and operate surveying instruments such as total stations, levels, and GPS equipment - Use hand tools to clear brush and vegetation from survey lines - Measure distances, angles, and elevations using various surveying techniques - Assist in the preparation of survey reports and drawings - Perform calculations and data analysis using algebra, geometry, and other mathematical concepts - Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
Experience:
0-5 years
- Previous experience as an Instrument Man or similar role preferred - Familiarity with surveying equipment and techniques - Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings - Ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions - Knowledge of MicroStation or other drafting software is a plus - Strong math skills, including algebra and geometry, for accurate measurements and calculations - Experience with data collection using GPS technology is beneficial.
