Position Summary:
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Production Supervisor to bring strong leadership, organization, and accountability to our fabrication shop floor. This role is critical to improving our production speed, maintaining safety, and ensuring high-quality output. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in manufacturing, the ability to lead a crew with authority and respect, and the attention to detail necessary to support both shipping/receiving and quality control functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily leadership and direction to the shop floor team to ensure efficient and timely production of fabricated steel components.
Coach and mentor team members on efficient work habits, time-saving techniques, and quality standards.
Oversee shipping and receiving of structural steel components, including safe and organized truck load-building.
Serve as a bridge between production and QC, performing quality checks and collaborating with the existing QC team.
Coordinate with project managers and procurement to plan and stage materials in advance of deadlines.
Ensure that all work follows safety procedures and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Conduct and document daily shop walkthroughs, noting inefficiencies, safety concerns, and missed opportunities.
Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to align teams and uphold direction.
Maintain material inventory organization and ensure correct receiving and outgoing shipment documentation.
Maintain consumable inventory to ensure shop production is efficient. This includes but is not limited to maintaining preventative maintenance schedules for heavy equipment.
Adapt work hours to meet company needs, including early starts or late finishes during peak production.
Qualifications:
5+ years experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Proven ability to lead crews, enforce standards, and drive efficient work without micromanaging.
Familiarity with safe loading and transport procedures for heavy structural materials.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail, especially in quality control and material handling.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexibly to meet production goals.
CNC equipment experience or willingness to become proficient.
Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
