Job Summary:
The Activity Leader will supervise a group of students, assisting students with homework, providing enrichment and academic activities that directly correlate to the Kids 'R' Kids essential standards. The Activity Leader plans and delivers curricula, considers age level developmental needs and interests, is a positive role model for students, supports students to experience a variety of learning opportunities, and creates a positive environment for learning and enrichment with a goal of 100% participation. Minimum Qualifications & Abilities:
* High School Diploma
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents and other staff members
* Knowledge of Basic instructional methods and techniques.
* Interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
* Prepares instructional materials and academic instruction to individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction and following up on specific language, spelling, reading, art and other subject activities.
* Prepare and maintain student work areas according to the Kids 'R' Kids curriculum.
* Implements academic and enrichment activities
* Assists students in improving academic skills and reaching performance goals
* Establishes cooperative and effective working relationships with children and adults
* Observe and control behavior of students according to approved procedures; report progress regarding student performance and behavior.
* Assure the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures; maintain learning environment in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
* Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about children
* Creates an attractive and safe learning environment
* Participate in Staff Development activities
* Perform other duties as assigned. Must most of all, just have fun with our kids!
