Description:
Duties: Organize creative activities and educational games (e.g. drawing, crafting and puppet games);
Prepare children’s meals and snacks and feed them;
Change diapers;
Help children wash up and take baths;
Teach children appropriate social behaviors, such as being respectful to each other and helping with chores;
Transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities;
Tidy up play areas and children’s rooms;
Ensure children’s safety during indoor and outdoor activities;
Take care of children in case of injury or illness;
Perform housekeeping tasks as needed;
Work with parents to ensure children’s growth and social development;
Manage children’s schedules and calendars;
Arrange appointments for the children;
Running errands and performing necessary tasks;
Buy and stock food, supplies, household items, prescriptions, and other requested items for children;
Help enforce a schedule (Bedtimes and nap times);
Laundering and putting away clothing, or changing linens; Ensure that children achieve and demonstrate mastery of English and Afrikaans language;
Volunteer for PTA and are a classroom mom;
Prepare to perform first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when require;
Interact with kids with learning activities to help develop fine motor skills and learn numbers and letters;
Assist young students with homework and projects to include and participate with the children in educational and physical activities;
Supervise and assist young students and recommend modifications for learning disabilities, speech delays and behavioral disorders.
Communicate and assist children with language development in Afrikaans.
Job Requirements:
Child Caretaker with speech delay experience
Required Training Fields:
License/Certification: US Driver's License, Completion of a 2 year-Cultural Exchange Nanny Program, Degree in Early Childhood Development with a concentration in children in need of language develop.
