Job Title: Floater Cook Assistant Teacher

Hourly Rate: $12-14/hr

Employment Type: Part-time or Full-time

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Floater Cook Assistant Teacher. This position will require flexibility and adaptability as you will be assisting in various roles within our educational facility, primarily focusing on providing support in the kitchen and assisting teachers in the classroom when needed.

Responsibilities:

Assist in food preparation, cooking, and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children according to established menus and dietary guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing food properly.

Follow health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with food handling procedures.

Assist teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities and educational programs for children.

Supervise and engage with children during meal times, ensuring a positive and nurturing environment.

Provide support to lead teachers by assisting with classroom management, behavior guidance, and curriculum implementation.

Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children.

Collaborate with colleagues to promote teamwork and effective communication within the facility.

Adhere to the policies and procedures of the organization, including attendance and punctuality requirements.

Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education and culinary arts.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in culinary arts or early childhood education preferred.

Previous experience working in a kitchen or childcare setting is desirable.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
