Architectural Designer

SBLM Architects is a nationally recognized mid-sized architectural firm.

Our Dallas office is looking for an Architectural Designer who is a highly motivated individual with excellent leadership and communication skills who seeks to assist in growing our newest regional office. A minimum of 10 years of experience as an Architectural Designer is required.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrate competence and professionalism, always with a high level of integrity.

Must consistently be in the office during core office hours; 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Set an example that exemplifies the firm’s goals and core values.

Be organized, self-motivating, and fiscally responsible.

Be dependable, consistent, and detail oriented.

Be able to work with our firm’s Principal in Charge of Design out of our NYC office.

Lead multiple architectural design exercises for the Dallas office and assist our Principal in Charge of Design out of our NYC office as needed.

Organizes and develops high level presentation materials (renderings, brochures and digital modeling etc.) to present to clients while overseeing supporting team members in completing all submissions with minimal supervision.

Communicate and coordinate with external and internal team members.

Stay current with graphic standards, tools & technologies

Schedule projects to meet deadlines, minimize downtime, and minimize overtime.

Have good problem-solving skills: identifying a problem, obstacle, or opportunity and taking decisive action to address.

Ensure Quality Assurance occurs as projects progress through its design phases to maintain SBLM’s high standards for architectural design work and presentation materials.

Participate in appropriate project meetings with the client and key team members.

Can motivate others and foster teamwork.

Be externalized in the community, actively building and utilizing a professional network.

Requirements:

Must hold a professional Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture.

Applicant must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Architectural Designer in an architectural office.

Should be a Registered Architect.

Applicant must be proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketchup, Lumion and Twinmotion.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced demanding environment.

Team leadership skills, excellent communication with staff, clients and contractors.

Possess excellent organizational skills.

Possess some onsite construction field experience.

Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering systems.

Strong knowledge of Texas and national building codes, ADA codes and other applicable federal and industry standard guidelines.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

Follow office standards, policies, and procedures.

Assist to resolve problems of scope and complexity.
