We are seeking a compassionate companion to read to our loved one who has experienced a traumatic brain injury. This rewarding position involves providing companionship, assisting with exercises, and engaging in music and movement therapy.
This job is located in the Cultural District of Fort Worth, Texas
About Our Loved One:
Before her accident, she was a highly educated and articulate individual. While her ability to talk and express herself has been severely diminished, she responds to humor and enjoys listening to conversations. Occasionally, she has been able to speak in response, creating precious moments of connection.
Responsibilities Include:
- Reading to her (books, articles, etc.)
- Assisting with physical exercises
- Engaging in music and movement therapy
- Providing companionship and emotional support
Requirements:
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Strong communication skills
- Experience or willingness to learn about working with individuals with disabilities
- A love for reading and sharing stories
Details:
- Flexible hours: 6-10 hours per week
- Pay: $30 per hour
