A local TxDOT highway electrical contractor specializing in illumination, traffic signals, overhead signs and small road signs is now hiring for the following positions:
FOREMAN – General knowledge of materials and methods for this field of work (TXDOT Highway Electrical). Provide hands on assistance to operators, skilled laborers and common laborers. Coordinate daily crew tasks with superintendents. Document crew man hours and daily production. Knowledge of backhoe, trencher, bucket truck, and crane truck operation. Assist in loading and transporting equipment to and from job sites.
OPERATORS – Experience with backhoe, trencher, mini-excavator, skid steer, bucket truck, digger derrick and crane truck preferred. Must proficiently operate and maintain listed equipment, load and transport equipment to and from the job site. Skilled Laborer duties also apply.
SKILLED LABORERS – General knowledge of materials and methods for TxDOT highway electrical work required. Ability to layout and place traffic control devices, transport materials, assemble components including traffic signals, overhead signs, illumination poles and electrical services. Form and pour concrete for drill shaft foundations, traffic signal controller pads, ground box aprons, etc.
GENERAL LABORERS – Physical labor includes the ability to hand dig, perform concrete demo, pull wire, and tie rebar. Place conduit/pipe in open trenches, use common hand tools, electric and pneumatic tools such as saws, hammers, shovels, jack hammers, compactors, wrenches, etc. Also assist with traffic control flagger stop/slow sign.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 6 months to 1-year advance training in the TxDOT electrical industry preferred. Must have a valid TX driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required) and your own reliable transportation. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle check. Must have a good attitude and be able to arrive to work on time. Must be able to work independently and with a team. Must be able to travel within the state of Texas as needed. Must be able to physically work in extreme weather conditions and be comfortable with heights. TRF 450 (TxDOT Electrical Certification) and or IMSA Certification is a plus for consideration.
