Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Tower Hand Technician to join our Lubbock, TX crew. The Tower Hand Tech will assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications towers and related structures. This role requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and technical precision. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights and traveling to job sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of cellular tower equipment (antennas, coax, mounts, radios, fiber, etc.).
Climb towers up to 500 feet (with proper fall protection and training).
Follow all OSHA and company safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
Perform rigging, hoisting, and cable runs with attention to detail and accuracy.
Operate hand and power tools, testing equipment, and specialized gear safely.
Assist crew leads and foremen with ground operations and tower assembly.
Conduct basic troubleshooting and assist with repair of telecom equipment.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean and working condition.
Accurately complete daily reports, timesheets, and safety documentation.
Travel regionally (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico) as projects require.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
0–2 years of tower climbing or telecom construction experience (training provided).
Must be comfortable working at heights and in varying outdoor conditions.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL a plus).
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly.
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction practices.
Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Previous tower climbing, rigging, or construction experience.
First Aid/CPR certification.
OSHA 10/30 or applicable safety certifications.
Knowledge of carrier-specific equipment (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.).
