WOOD TOUCH-UP & RESTORATION SPECIALIST
GBS Group, Inc. has an IMMEDIATE need for a part-time Wood Touch-Up and Restoration Specialist to join our team at our Dallas, Texas Office. GBS Group, Inc. was formed in 1979 and is one of the largest independent certified textile service companies in the United States with offices in Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Chicago. We are a unique company specializing in office interior restoration and maintenance which include carpet, fabric and leather furniture, workstation panels, tile and natural stone, wood furniture and flooring conditioning and repairs, and water emergencies. Our clients are predominantly Fortune 1000 and large regional companies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSBILITIES/JOB DUTIES
Provide wood touch-up and restoration services on wood surface areas to repair cuts, scrapes, abrasions, gouges, dings, nicks, water damage, ink and color damages from wood surfaces. Wood surfaces can include furniture, desk, doors, cabinets, panels, etc.
Wood touch up repairs include detail work of matching wood grains, stains, and applying finishes.
Minor refinishing of wood surfaces includes stripping, removing old finish, sanding, filling, staining, sealing and top coating surfaces as it pertains to the outer surface and surface edging.
Providing touch-up and restoration services on wood surface areas to repair cuts, scrapes, abrasions, gouges, water damage, ink and color damages from wood surfaces.
Minor refinishing of wood surfaces includes removing old finish, conduct sanding, filling, staining, sealing and top coating surfaces as it pertains to the outer surface and surface edging.
Candidate must have experience in matching colors, stains, wood grains, and textures to the original condition. Wood surface areas include: Trim, Doors and Baseboards, elevator cabs & lobby paneling, stair rails, tables & chairs, furniture – Desk, Credenzas, Shelves and flooring
Work at client site during the evenings and 1 Saturday per month
You will provide customers with exceptional service, and you must adhere to professional conduct standards, at all times.
Uphold all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for cleanliness and care of company vehicles (if applicable).
Account for and return all cleaning tools, chemicals, etc. to vehicle before departure from job site.
Able to move and/or lift at least 60 lbs.
Able to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 4pm to 11pm plus 1-2 Saturdays per month. (Total hours will vary dependent on job assignment for the day.)
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years’ wood touch-up and restoration experience. Building wood cabinets alone does not qualify.
Candidate must have experience in matching colors, stains, wood grains, and textures to the original condition. Wood surface areas include: Trim, Doors and Baseboards, elevator cabs & lobby paneling, stair rails, tables & chairs, furniture – Desk, Credenzas, Shelves and flooring
Able to communicate well in English (both verbally and in writing)
High School Diploma
Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
