Security Officer (part time)

Job Description

Fort Worth Country Day is seeking to fill a part time Security Officer position within the Security Department. Reporting to the Safety and Security Manager, Security Officers are the front line of protecting the School community and managing risk in a manner respectful of the School’s core values, culture and climate. Officers help to provide an environment that ensures the student’s safety and supports the School’s mission.

This part time position is expected to work Monday through Wednesday from 2:30pm – 9:30pm, Saturday from 8am – 4pm and special events. Other hours may be available.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Render basic security service

• Patrol the campus

• Control the access (exterior doors) to campus buildings

• Provide for traffic control

• Issue parking stickers

• Monitor the campus for vehicle or parking violations

• Dispense information and give directions

• Conduct preliminary investigations

• In the event of a medical emergency, may be needed to stabilize a student, faculty, staff, parent or visitor

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift; must to be able to move from a seated position to standing continuously during the entire shift

• Push, pull, move, lift and carry items up to 25 pounds

• Must demonstrate physical agility, strength and manual dexterity

• Must to be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels; visual acuity

• Be able to drive a golf cart or a school vehicle on school grounds

• Work indoors and outdoors in all climates and conditions

Other:

• Will train

• Must pass state requirements

• Must be a self-starter, mature, reliable, and need little supervision
