Manager - Technology (Michaels Stores, Inc. – Irving, TX); Multiple positions available: Lead highly skilled application developers and/or system analysts to apply product capability or technology to solve a business problem. Conduct research and recommend solutions on emerging trends. Collaborate with business and technical teams to advocate for and drive change on behalf of your team. Develop and execute systems strategies to support business goals. Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals. Participate in end-to-end recruitment process, hiring and on-boarding exceptional technology talent. Responsible for the growth of the team including individuals’ career growth, skill set development, and hiring the right resources. Position based in Irving, TX. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in technology management. Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: Object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms; Utilizing programming languages such as Java, C/C, Python, or JavaScript; Building software systems for delivery to customers; Building, managing, and mentoring engineering teams; Designing, developing, and implementing scalable enterprise solutions; Agile, Waterfall, or SAP ASAP methodologies; and Analytics and reporting using MicroStrategy, Power BI, BI Publisher, OBIEE, Tableau, or similar programs. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position based in Irving, TX. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
