IT Consultant - networking and user support

Position

Long established managed service provider recently took on a new client in the Dallas TX area that we are are looking for local part time assistance with. This would be a great opportunity for a person that is currently working in a traditional IT related position that wants to get their “feet wet” in consulting, working along side an experienced consulting firm team. Generally we expect about 1 day a week of work with potential variation.

We have a high degree of flexibility in how this new hire could be used to help our client. Some examples of possible work areas include: New PC setups working from a detailed checklist, assisting with network changes (VLANS), wifi system installation, Office365 administration. If you have a strong skillset, our team can fill in gaps around areas where you may have less experience as we work as a team.

The position would require travel to our client’s site in the greater Dallas area – the work is substantially on site and would require a good amount of flexibility from the candidate in terms of scheduling.

IMPORTANT: A candidate that has worked in technical support within a corporate or academic environment for at least two years (preferable continuous and for the same company) is preferred. You must have recent and applicable experience working in a professional (paid) capacity in an IT support position to be considered for this position.

Requirements

A good candidate would have a wide knowledge of workstation applications, cloud services, and basic server infrastructure and management.
