Job Title: 3 Project Safety Assistants for a General Contractor
Location: North Texas, South Texas and Oklahoma
Pay Range: $40-$45 – Based on experience

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Commercial Construction Safety Officer for a General Contractor in 3 different regions. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. Your main goal will be to always ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.
Safety Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis
Review existing policies and procedures
Adhere to all the rules and regulations
Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
Conduct risk assessment
Enforce preventative measures
Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
Qualifications and Requirements:
2-5 years + of experience as a Safety or similar role
In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices
Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures
Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
2-5 years + of experience in producing reports
Experience in reporting and developing policies
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
Experience in implementing OSH training programs
Proficient in MS Office
Working knowledge of safety management information system
Outstanding organizational skills
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Team player
Good time-management skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills
BSc/BA in safety management or similar field, with 2 years pf field exp. in Safety. (Preferred, not required.)
Certifications in occupational health and safety, dated within 5 years.
Fall protection, scaffolds, excavation, confined space, crane/equipment operations, electrical, incident investigation, and other such safety/health related training. Must also be willing to continue future education to keep certifications current, dated within 5 years.
Must show evidence of specialized training for Emergency First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) current to within 2 years.
OSHA 500. (Preferred, not required.)
