Job Overview:
The Lead Furniture Delivery Driver is responsible for managing all aspects of furniture deliveries and pickups, ensuring that all products are delivered to our customers in a timely, professional, and safe manner. This role involves performing all furniture pickup and deliveries, coordinating with vendors, assisting with general shop duties, and contributing to light administrative tasks. This position requires a high level of customer service, problem-solving abilities, time management skills, and the ability to take charge and lead on the truck.
Key Responsibilities:
Furniture Deliveries & Pickups:
Drive company vehicles to deliver and pick up furniture to/from customer locations, ensuring safe and on-time arrivals.
Communicate with customers, confirming delivery/pickup schedules and managing expectations.
Unload, assemble, and set up furniture at customer locations (when necessary).
Ensure that all products are in excellent condition before and after delivery.
Work with vendors to handle deliveries and pickups
Handling mobile payments
Leadership & Team Coordination:
Take charge on the truck, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring all team members are aligned and focused on the task at hand.
Train and mentor new delivery staff as needed.
General Shop Help:
Assist with organizing, cleaning, and maintaining the warehouse and delivery areas.
Help with the inventory process and product organization as required.
Administrative Duties:
Handle basic computer tasks such as updating delivery schedules, tracking deliveries, and sending emails.
Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Manage any delivery-related paperwork, ensuring that all necessary documents are filled out accurately.
Additional Tasks:
Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations across the company.
Resolve any issues or challenges during the delivery process, using problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations.
Skills & Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License (with a clean driving record).
Previous experience in furniture delivery, logistics, or similar field preferred.
Proven leadership and team management experience – the ability to take charge and lead by example.
Customer service skills and the ability to engage positively with customers.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and think on your feet.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to lift heavy furniture and equipment, and perform physical labor as needed.
Basic computer skills for administrative tasks (email, scheduling, phone systems).
Attention to detail and high standards of professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs or more as part of the job.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive Pay: $22-$24 an hour .
