Job summary:
An Industrial Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the smooth operation of industrial machinery and equipment by coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, responding to equipment breakdowns, managing repairs, and prioritizing safety compliance within a manufacturing facility
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
o Hire, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks based on skills and workload.
o Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ensure team efficiency.
o Foster a culture of safety and adherence to company policies within the maintenance team.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
o Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for all industrial equipment.
o Monitor equipment condition through inspections and predictive maintenance techniques.
o Prioritize and assign maintenance tasks based on urgency and impact on production.
o Manage maintenance work orders, tracking progress and completion deadlines.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
o Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and diagnose the root cause of malfunctions.
o Lead troubleshooting efforts with maintenance technicians to identify and resolve complex issues.
o Coordinate necessary repairs with internal teams or external vendors as needed.
Inventory Management:
o Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
o Monitor and manage maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective repairs and parts procurement.
Safety Compliance:
o Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures for all maintenance activities.
o Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions to prevent accidents.
o Report any safety concerns to management immediately.
Reporting and Analysis:
o Generate reports on maintenance performance metrics, including equipment downtime, repair costs, and preventative maintenance compliance.
o Identify trends and areas for improvement to optimize maintenance efficiency.
o Collaborate with production teams to address maintenance-related issues impacting production output.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of industrial machinery, electrical systems including PLC, Drives, high and low voltage systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical principles.
Leadership Abilities:
Proven experience leading and motivating a team of maintenance technicians.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication with both technical and non-technical personnel to clearly explain maintenance issues and updates.
Computer Proficiency:
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order management and data analysis, Microsoft Office, programming software.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Trade certificate or Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with supervisory experience preferred.
