Painting Crew for Subcontract Work
Spartan Renovations is looking for a crew of self-motivated painters to join our team as a subcontractor. Spartan Renovations performs painting for multi-family residential complexes as well as single family homes in the Dallas Fort Worth Area.
Look for those who are organized, detail-oriented and have exceptional customer service skills.
Job responsibilities:
● Inspect surfaces and determine appropriate primers, paints, finishes, and tools for application.
● Monitor material inventory and cost-effectively buy painting materials (e.g., paint, brushes, drop cloths, etc.).
● Provide all materials and equipment necessary to complete the job.
● Cover furniture, fixtures, and exposed surfaces for protection before starting projects
● Prepare walls, cabinets, siding, fences, and other surfaces for painting projects (e.g., scraping, sandpapering, paint removal).
● Repair cracks, dents, holes, and other minor surface damage with putty or plaster before painting.
● Mix paint colors to achieve the correct color and texture.
● Paint surfaces and apply varnish, sealant, and stain as needed.
● Follow workplace health and safety rules.
● Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles.
● Maintain a clean, tidy work area on job sites.
● Work well with customers, contractors, and other trades.
● Coordinate service with customers and handle complaints professionally
● Determine and identify the right materials and quantities for new and existing projects
● Prepare various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and sandblasting
● Mix, match, and blend various paints, enamels, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve the client’s desired color and consistency
● Apply paint using roller, brush, sprayer, or another applicator
● Maintain a vehicle for the transportation of necessary materials.
Qualifications and skills:
● 3+ years of experience as a residential or commercial painter
● Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
● Liability insurance required; worker’s compensation strongly preferred
● Knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniques
● Comfortable using different painting tools on various surfaces (e.g., spray equipment)
● Familiar with color theory principles
● Able to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversion of measurements
● Able to sit, stand, kneel, lift, and climb ladders
● Strong planning, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
● Great attention to detail, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
● Can work independently and as part of a team environment
● Can communicate well and has good interpersonal skills (multiple languages are a plus)
● Able to follow written and verbal instructions
● Experience with work in construction environments with ladders, scaffolding, and large industrial equipment
● References from previous jobs
Working hours:
Full-time, year-round
Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm
Sat-Sun, if needed for certain jobs, not required.
Compensation:
Competitive to market. Compensation will be dependent on job and scope of work.
o All paint, supplies, material, and equipment supplied by subcontractor.
This position will require a background check upon hire.
