SAFETY COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION Pipeline
Job Description
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team for a 27-month assignment in Anderson County, Texas, on a major pipeline project. This role requires strong leadership, field presence, and hands-on experience managing safety on heavy civil and large infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop prevention strategies.
Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident rates, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate with management, subcontractors, and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
Provide training and education on safety topics, including hazard recognition, emergency response, and PPE usage.
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to workplace safety.
Actively participate in job hazard analysis (JHA), activity hazard analysis (AHA), and job safety planning meetings.
Experience Requirements:
Must have relevant experience in pipeline construction, deep excavations, trenching, blasting, and heavy civil work.
Experience with dredging, concrete structures, demolition, and large infrastructure projects.
Experience supporting projects valued at $40 million or more.
Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple crews and subcontractors in high-risk construction environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
7+ years of relevant safety experience in pipeline and heavy civil construction.
OSHA 30 required (additional certifications such as CHST, ASP, or CSP are helpful)
Proven experience in safety management or a similar role.
Knowledge of OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and training.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $78,000 – $85,000 per year
