POSITION SUMMARY:
The Industrial Electrician ensures the proper operation and upkeep of machinery, mechanical equipment, and industrial vehicles for the manufacturing facility. This position requires the employee to actively identify problems with equipment and/or facility systems, document the issues, and take corrective actions to resolve the problems, while effectively communicating all pertinent issues to management. The Industrial Electrician performs assigned preventative maintenance tasks as it relates to the production facility to minimize downtime or unplanned repairs. This position maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with company and regulatory procedures and rules. The Industrial Electrician will work and collaborate with contractor services for a variety of maintenance and repair services. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and repairs, with a focus on electrical components
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Preventative Actions, Quality Policy, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Safety policies
- Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) Duties (Includes PM tasks and PM system functions)
- Manages parts inventories and identify requirements for orders
- Building and facility Repairs that may require fabrication/welding duties
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience as an Electrician in an industrial environment required; Industrial electric maintenance in food and beverage manufacturing preferred
- Completion of relevant certification from a trade school required
- Ability to follow and understand blueprints, operations manuals, electrical diagrams, and manufacturer's instructions to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment
- Strong knowledge of GMP’s and of all food safety and physical safety guidelines, rules, and policies as they apply to the repair, and operation of equipment and facilities
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, OSHA requirements, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills are required
- Principles of food hygiene and food safety as defined and described on 21 CFR-Part 117 including the importance of employee health and personal hygiene, as appropriate to the assigned duties
- Able to stand or sit for prolonged hours, lift 50 lbs., climb stairs and safely utilize ladders and aerial work platforms
- Must reside in the Palestine, Texas area
