POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising the personnel and all manufacturing activities. This position is expected to maintain and promote a safe work environment while maintaining or exceeding the company’s food safety standards. This role is directly responsible for the effective training and development of Operators. They are also responsible for implementation of policies, programs, and procedures. The Production Supervisor must identify opportunities for plant operation improvement and effectively develop and implement the necessary improvement plan. This position reports to the Production Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the efficient and timely execution of manufacturing schedule while continually looking to improve material usage variance (scrap) and labor cost.
- Achieve regulatory compliance and improve safety, production quality and product specification compliance by ensuring the adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, and all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations regarding production and QEHS.
- Ensure effective training is provided to manufacturing workforce in all aspects of manufacturing operations and improve overall operator’s performance and skill level through cross-training and clear performance standards and expectations.
- Maintain and report on production KPI’s, schedule achievement and material usage.
- Lead assigned Continuous Improvement projects, and consistently seek to improvement the processes and procedures in area of responsibility.
- Ensure required sanitation and housekeeping on the equipment and areas are performed as scheduled.
Report all technical, quality, safety, logistic, personnel or any other issues to manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ Years Experience working in a Food/Beverage manufacturing plant; 1+ years experience as a Production Supervisor
- High School Diploma / GED Required; Associates degree in Management, Science or Engineering preferred
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, communication, leadership, mathematical and reading skills
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft office suite
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP)
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot, humid, noisy and dusty
- Able to stand or sit for prolonged hours, lift 50 lbs. and climb stairs
- Required to work 3rd shift
- Must reside in Palestine, Texas area
