POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager is a key leader within the organization, that oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance and control systems to ensure products meet high standards. This role involves managing systems validation, certification, and compliance with industry regulations, including Food Safety programs while also managing plans to identify and mitigate potential hazards. This position would entails creating and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) for consistent and safe processes. The Quality Manager supervises the sanitation and batching operations to maintain cleanliness and product safety. The position reports to the Plant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, manage, and enhance comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Lead and supervise the quality team, focusing on critical areas such as batching, sanitation, and the overall quality agenda for the facility.
- Address and manage internal quality issues promptly, ensuring that any deviations from quality standards are investigated thoroughly.
- Maintain and monitor quality measurement systems, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), process control programs, and auditing processes to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and quality systems in all plant operations and outputs
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and training for Quality, Production, and Maintenance Departments in critical food safety areas, which include Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point.
- Manages the vendor non-conformance process and relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification or Associate degree of Science required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 7+ years working in the field of quality in Food & Beverage manufacturing with 3+ years supervising and managing the quality agenda required; experience as Quality Manager and has completed GFSI Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and microbiological safety is crucial, as is the formulation and execution of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Hazard Analysis & Risk Based Preventative Controls (HARPC).
- Strong critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills and understanding of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, inspire and cultivate a team to perform in a proactive environment.
- Able to stand or sit for prolonged period of time, lift 50lbs and climb stairs.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
- Position required to work varying shifts and weekends at times to support project execution requirements
- Ability to travel 10%
- Ideal place of residence is Palestine, TX, or surrounding areas
