Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the duties of Store Manager. This includes overseeing the daily operations of our retail location. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can drive sales, deliver exceptional customer service, and create a positive and productive work environment for our team. You will be responsible for managing staff, handling inventory and finances, and ensuring the store runs efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and vendor coordination.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of store employees.
Create employee work schedules that provide sufficient coverage and control labor costs.
Ensure excellent customer service is consistently provided by all team members.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and in a timely manner.
Monitor inventory levels, order products, and manage merchandise displays to maximize sales.
Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked store environment.
Manage store finances, including cash control, budgeting, and preparing deposits and financial reports.
Implement marketing and sales strategies, including in-store promotions, to increase foot traffic and profitability.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and handle disciplinary actions for staff as needed.
Enforce and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as health, safety, and legal regulations.
Respond to store-related emergencies as they arise.
Qualifications and skills
Experience in retail is a plus, preferably in a convenience store or similar environment.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Proficiency with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
Analytical skills to manage finances and monitor inventory and sales.
Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs dictate.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
A strong work ethic and business acumen.
