Position Type: (3 days a week as Groundskeeper, weekends for Floor Repair and Maintenance)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and skilled individual to join our team as a Groundskeeper and Maintenance Technician. This dual-role position involves maintaining the grounds of our industrial bakery for three days a week and performing floor repairs and maintenance tasks, including painting, light plumbing, and light electrical work, during the weekends. The ideal candidate will have experience in groundskeeping, basic maintenance, and repair work.
Key Responsibilities:
Groundskeeper (3 Days a Week):
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bakery’s exterior, including lawns, gardens, and parking areas.
Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, and watering.
Ensure all walkways and entryways are clean and free of debris.
Perform minor repairs to outdoor structures, equipment, and fixtures.
Assist in snow and ice removal during the winter months.
Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the facilities manager.
Maintenance Technician (Weekends):
Inspect and assess the condition of bakery floors, identifying areas needing repair.
Perform floor repairs, including patching, resurfacing, and replacing damaged sections.
Conduct painting tasks, including preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring clean and even coverage.
Perform light plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures.
Perform light electrical tasks such as replacing light fixtures, switches, and outlets.
Use appropriate tools and materials to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance.
Ensure work areas are clean and safe during and after repairs.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and plan repair work to minimize disruption to bakery operations.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures during repair work.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in groundskeeping and basic maintenance tasks.
Experience with floor repair, painting, light plumbing, and light electrical work.
Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.
Previous experience working in an industrial or commercial setting.
Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily outdoors for groundskeeping duties, with exposure to various weather conditions.
Maintenance tasks may involve working in a bakery environment with exposure to flour dust and other bakery-related materials.
Physical demands include lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
