Strong emphasis on drafting court-ready state and federal motions and filings quickly and with attention to detail. Able to draft requests and responses to discovery; motions, pleadings, demands and correspondence, etc.
Maintain the litigation calendar flawlessly: to include discovery deadlines, hearings, appointments, and court dates
Maintain daily organization of a high-volume docket.
Document, organize, and prepare a file for trial.
Compile answers to interrogatories and responses to production requests by file review, correspondence and/or interviews with clients, and other outside sources.
Review and analyze pleadings, contracts, discovery, and various legal issues to assist attorneys in implementing appropriate legal action.
Selective legal research and sherardizing; interpreting, summarizing and apply cases.
Has knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Criminal Procedure, Immigration and some knowledge of other legal areas which will be reviewed upon accepting position.
Review and summarize depositions,
Attend pre-trial and trials assisting with void dire and exhibits.
Assisting with the preparation, filing and service of pleadings, motions, deposition notices, discovery requests, responses, and objections.
Prepare correspondence, status reports, pre-mediation and pre-trial reports for clients.
Prepare attorneys for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials including notebooks with pertinent pleadings, discovery, and documents.
E-file legal documents, initiate and monitor record orders, prepare draft subpoenas, deposition, etc.
2+ years of Paralegal experience
Paralegal certification required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside companies and/or entities.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, Email, and general database management.
On rare occasions, be able to answer business phone calls and/or text messages after hours.
Is willing to learn, friendly in the office, and able to handle multiple clients and multi-task.
Be able to take direction, but also come up with ideas of your own on how to potentially improve the office, and problem solve
