Join our dynamic team as a Material Handler on the third shift (11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) and play a crucial role in our production process. As a Material Handler, you will ensure the smooth operation of our production lines by managing materials and maintaining equipment. This position is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Review production schedule with Shift Supervisor and plan/prioritize work activities for the shift.
Check dryer units and material hoppers, filling them with plastic resin according to the bill of materials (BOM) and completing required documentation.
Perform color audits and verify correct dispersion percentages are set correctly.
Prepare plastic materials, dry them, and set up auxiliary equipment, working in parallel with other production team members to minimize machine downtime.
Practice FIFO (first in/first out) as plastic materials and other components are pulled from inventory.
Clean and service auxiliary equipment such as dryers, grinders, hoppers, color feeders, and central load systems to ensure changes are free of contaminants.
Perform various housekeeping and organization duties, maintaining production floors, molding machines, and equipment clean and free of dust, plastic pellets, and purge.
Qualifications
High School education preferred.
Minimum two years of plastics material handling experience preferred.
Forklift certification preferred.
Must possess and/or obtain a forklift certification.
Ability to be flexible and work overtime as needed.
Must be able to read, write English, and perform basic math calculations.
Basic computer skills required.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble and re-assemble production equipment.
Ability to interact with team members and work independently as required.
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged hours.
Must be able to climb up and down ladders frequently.
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. repeatedly during the shift.
Must be able to push, pull, grasp, reach, climb, bend, and stoop on occasion.
Occasionally exposed to dusty/noisy environment and plastic fumes.
