I have an opening that would only require approximately 10-20 hours a week, it would be ideal for a student looking to gather some real-world experience, as well as earn some spending money. Some availability during normal working hours is necessary.
The work entails support for a small network, a few servers, virtual servers, and a few dozen desktop PC’s. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision. This is a 1099 contract opportunity. There are no set hours. There are, however, opportunities for some work each week. So, I’m looking for someone that will take ownership of the network, and perform needed work, without always having to be told. This would include everything from standard low-tech maintenance (cleaning keyboards, monitors, etc.), Windows updates, and troubleshooting IT issues that might arise.
The candidate should also be personable, as they will have considerable interaction with end-users.
Some skills that will be required are:
Create accounts in Active Directory
Upgrade PC’s (hardware and software)
Configure new PC’s
Add PC’s to domain
Troubleshoot network issues
Install Software such as Office
Become familiar with industry specific software
Act as the subject matter expert for computer/network issues
Provide brief written summaries of work for billing purposes
If this sounds like something you are interested in, please send me a resume. I would prefer someone with the same skill set as an MCSE/CCNA. The certifications are not as important as the actual know-how.
Must be able to pass a basic background check.
