Description We are an esteemed law firm seeking to hire a Litigation Paralegal with a background in nursing to join our team. An ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of medical-related legal cases, clinical procedures, and healthcare standards. This role will support our attorneys specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare-related cases by performing various legal support tasks promptly with supreme attention to detail.Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in health care and medical malpractice lawsuits.
Conduct in-depth medical literature research and information for use in legal proceedings.
Review, analyze, and prepare medical records for presentation in legal cases.
Prepare case documents for attorney review, mediations, depositions, hearings, and trials.
Draft pleadings, responses, motions, deposition summaries, and discovery.
Perform interviews with clients, witnesses, doctors, and other experts to gather information for cases.
Liaison between law firm and medical professionals, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
Prepare and organize exhibits, evidence, and other legal documents for trials.
Requirements
Associates degree or Paralegal certificate.
Preferably a Registered Nurse (RN) or anyone with a background in nursing.
Superior understanding of the medical industry, healthcare regulations, and medical terminologies.
Proven experience as a litigation paralegal.
Excellent research, analytical, and reporting skills.
Proficiency in legal research software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
