Accountant I
Job Description Summary and Objectives:
In search of an Accountant who is motivated, an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. A qualified candidate must have experience and an education in the accounting field, be familiar with accounting procedures and experience with accounting software programs such as GP Dynamics or similar.
The Accountant will be assisting de Accounting Department with data entry, preparing reports for management, updating the ledger, recording journal entries, analyzing data trends in detail, and keeping accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be able to process complex accounting transactions in accounts payable, fixed assets, accrual and cash basis, bank reconciliations, intercompany, and balance sheet data.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor daily accounting operations and bookkeeping by following accounting best practices.
Ensure timely and accurate transfer of account data to General Ledger.
Analyze and review accounting transactions to prepare for month-end and year-end closing.
Assist in individual account reconciliation, analysis, and coding.
Prepare and post journal entries for single and intercompany financial structure.
Review, analyze, and approve fixed assets for integration and depreciation.
Review and explain account trend analysis.
Assist with audits, fact checks, projections, and resolving financial discrepancies.
Prepare and review weekly bank reconciliations.
Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements, Qualifications and Other Personal Characteristics:
College degree in accounting field with minimum 4 years of work experience.
Must have experience with supervising at least 1 – 5 employees.
Thorough understanding of accrual and cash basis bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel Formulas, Functions, Pivot Tables.
Proficiency with computers and accounting software, GP Dynamics preferable.
Ability to work long hours during closing and budget season or as business dictates.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Strong sense of responsibility in completing projects in a timely and accurate manner.
Team player and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluent (speak, read, write).
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
No or very limited physical effort required. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Full-time position.
