The reason the location is La Porte / Spring is the office, and warehouse is currently located near Spring between the Airtex and Richey exits off 45 North. The company will be relocating to La Porte in the next 3 to 4 months because of plans for significant expansion of our operations. The ideal hire will be bilingual and live on the north side of LaPorte or be renting housing in Spring and be willing to relocate.
We are seeking to fill an inventory accounting position. We currently are a distributor of roofing coatings and foam insulation. Our expansion of operations will include the blending of chemicals into the finished product we distribute.
This is a new position. We want to hire someone with strong and recent inventory experience using the QuickBooks inventory module. An accounting degree is not required, however, inventory knowledge and experience is mandatory. If you are familiar with QuickBooks, you already are aware of the need for familiarity with Excel to perform the reconciling of the perpetual inventory to the physical count activities. If you cannot demonstrate inventory and Excel experience in the first week of employment, please do not reply. We do not have time to train someone and will respond quickly if you are not qualified.
The starting salary will be $65,000. After three months, we will evaluate your performance and an increase of five to ten percent will be discussed. We do not have a medical or 401-K plan, though we expect to add a medical plan soon. We will be initiating a medical insurance plan soon and until we do, we will pay a temporary stipend of $700 a month.
The position includes significant reconciling. If you are the kind of person who does not reconcile your checkbook or credit card statement, please do not respond to this posting. The tasks are repetitive and require someone who cares about accuracy frankly, I don't care how much you know until I know how much you care, to paraphrase a speaker I once listened to. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is assumed. Telecommuting is not an option. Our hours are 8 to 4 with flexibility for 7 to 3.
